Last Year's April

This time last year, late April, I had my mind focused on a few things only. Majority of my focuses were to achieve my dreams and to make sure I stay happy in the future.

Number 1 on my list was to be safe while I fell victimized of stalking from a former-roommate and number 2 was probably to ace all my finals at the time, while being forced to move in with friends to avoid being threatened by the stalker. And deciding which one was the perfect dress to wear for my master's graduation ceremony was probably number 3.

Other aside, looking back this time a year ago, I was a lot happier. I was a graduating graduate school student who thought a promising future was ahead. And now, I certainly did not completely become the person that I wanted to be.

In 6 weeks, my chance of turning my life around will arrive and I am trying my hardest to prepare myself. Regardless of the outcome, I won't give myself another long period of time to wait to make things right. I am going to un-do all my pain and regrets. And if I can turn the past around, I am going to.

Dreams don't just happen; they are achieved by determination and motivation. I failed plenty of times, but I have no intention to ever stop.

Cheap Discovery- petites baby blue nail polish

When neon-colors are the trendiest thing at the moment, many nail-polish brands have released many many different kinds of neon color polishes.

I am not a huge nails fan. I am lack of the patience to wait for my nails to dry. I often just end up at a nail salon, when time permits, doing a quick mani-pedi.

I stopped by my local pharmacy for some snacks on a Friday evening and of course I would "unconsciously" pass by the make-up aisle to see if I can put a few little things into my shopping basket. I ended up with this $1.99 sky blue nail polish and I absolutely love it.

The color is very nice. It isn't as bright as neon but it does release a shy neon vibe. The polish dries very quickly but there's a trade-off with it chipping easier as well. But with the price being $1.99, I really can't complain.

P.S. Ignore my background. I was watching dramas all-day-long and didn't want to miss a minute of it. I was clearly painting my nails while watching dramas, when I should really be studying.

Room Falling Apart...

It's been nearly a year since I have moved back to Brooklyn from Buffalo. I kept majority of my stuffs from college, especially my clothes, makeup, accessories, teddy bears, and all the plush toys that I have ever gotten or received.

I share a room with my little brother but he is away most of the time at college so I technically conquered the whole room by myself. And after a year of conquering this what my tiny room turned into...
With a large amount of purses and bags, along with a lot of belts on the wall. With boxes and boxes of jeweleries, accessories, and makeups. And a lot of magazines and books that I often read before sleeping (and luckily my Kindle fire has reduced the amount of books physically lying on the floor). And those poor plush toys that no longer has a place to stay on my bed.

And this is only one corner of my tiny room. I still have a lot of hats and bags that I have nowhere to hang or store. And a lot of little bags of makeup, skin products, and nail polishes laying at different places in my room to my parent's room, and the poor living room.

Poor plastic drawer... It's nearly disfigured from all the weight on top that I keep on adding on.

More motivation for me to work and study harder...!

April's Glam Bag- MyGlam

I came home on a Thursday night and saw my monthly MyGlam package sitting in the living room. I didn't wait a second before I took a pair of scissors and cut open the bright pink package.

This month's glam bag improved by a lot, mostly meeting the customers' demands for more makeup products. For the price of 10 dollars a month, I really couldn't have asked for more and I am very impressed by all the customer service and shipping improvements that MyGlam has made so far.

This month's theme is Girls Night Out. And the bag came in a simple metallic pink!
This month's bag includes...
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil
  • DermStore Lip Quench-Moisture Infused Lip Treatment
  • All-Belle Eyelashes
  • MyGlam All-Over Eyeshadow Brush and Eyeliner Brush
Unfortunately, I didn't get my Urban Decay Eye Pencil with my bag. I have already contacted MyGlam and their quick response and friendly attitude makes me feel much appreciated. I was told that I will be receiving my eye pencil in the mail in a week or two. And I can't wait to try on the Eye Pencil since I have always been a big Urban Decay fan.
Overall, this month's bag has an
over $10 worth of products (including the UD eye pencil that I'm missing).
The All-Belle Eyelashes are great and they look very natural. The only problem would be my eyelashes applying skill is ridiculously.. hmm... low and clumsy. The two brushes are great especially the eyeliner brush as it works great with gel-liner products, which I use a lot. The DermStore Lip treatment is also something that can be valued since everyone can benefits from some glossy and soft lips.
Conclusion: Great job, MyGlam!

I need to think of a good way to reuse all these beautiful glam bags. I may make this a wristlet for a true girls night out use?

Cheap Discovery -- Private Viewing by wet n wild

Like always, when I get to get off on-time or early on a Friday workday, I stop by some of my favorite stores like forever21, H&M, and Sephora to see if there are anything that I can buy to reward myself for going through another survival and growth as a working and maturing adult.

After an adventurous trip to forever21 and Sephora on a Friday evening, I left Manhattan with a few bags of goodies and when I arrive to my train station at Brooklyn, I thought to myself, why not stop by the local pharmacy and see what I get to discover this time.

And the result is, this gorgeous nail polish called Private Viewing by wet n wild for only $1.99.

I'm very surprised by the quality of the brush. It evens out the polish through out your nails and give you a nail-salon done result. The color turns out very nice and very natural. It's a very nice color to wear in this early spring season!
